Terms of use and disclaimer
By using Your Equation you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Educational use only
The formulas, worked examples, explanations and practice questions are provided for study and for first-order estimates. They are standard, open-literature results. They are not professional engineering advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified engineer, a design code, a standard, a test or a manufacturer’s data.
Do not rely on it for safety-critical work
Never use a result from this site alone for the design, certification, operation or safety assessment of any structure, vehicle, vessel, weapon, system or process. Each formula page lists the assumptions that limit where it can be trusted. If your case falls outside them, the result may be wrong. Always check results against an authoritative source before relying on them.
No warranty
We work to make the content correct, but we cannot guarantee it is free of errors, complete or up to date. The site and everything on it is provided “as is”, without any warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Corrections and feedback
If you find an error or have a suggestion, please email [email protected]. We may use feedback to improve the site without obligation to you. Each formula carries a revision label, and we update it when a formula is corrected or changed.
Open-literature material only
The library, including its defence engineering section, contains only published, open-literature formulas. It contains no classified, sensitive or export-controlled information, and please do not send us any.
Independence
Your Equation is an independent educational resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by any exam board, university, employer or government body, and no such body is responsible for its content.
Ownership and use of the content
The text, layout and design of the site are © 2026 Your Equation. The underlying formulas are established scientific and engineering results and are not owned by anyone. You may link to any page and quote short extracts with credit. Please do not copy or republish the library as a whole without asking us first.
