Privacy policy
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Your Equation (yourequation.com). In short: we do not ask you to create an account, we do not collect personal data through the site, and the numbers you type into a calculator stay in your browser.
What the site does with what you enter
Every calculator, chart and practice question runs inside your own browser. The values you enter and the answers you give are not sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not stored once you close or refresh the page.
Information we collect
The site has no sign-in, no forms and no comment boxes, so we do not collect your name, email address or any other personal details through it. We do not use advertising or analytics tools at present.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply, to fix errors and to improve the site, and we keep it only as long as we need it for that. We do not sell it or share it with anyone else.
Third parties
- Fonts. The site loads its typefaces (Barlow and IBM Plex Mono) from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser asks Google’s servers for the font files, so Google receives your IP address and basic browser details, as with any request on the internet. We do not receive that information. Google describes its handling in its own privacy policy.
- Hosting. The companies that host the site and deliver it to you, and your own internet provider, may keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, time and page requested, for security and to keep the service running.
Cookies
The site does not set cookies. See the cookie notice for details.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to your data protection authority. The only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us. To ask about it or to have it removed, write to [email protected].
Children
The site is for students and engineers and does not ask anyone for personal information, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we add features that change how information is handled, such as analytics or advertising, we will update this policy and the cookie notice before they go live, and ask for your consent first where the law requires it. The date below shows when this policy last changed.
